Why it matters

The outdoor base creates a 2–16 ft keep-out zone around a garden bed, pool or grill. The collar gives tone, vibration and progressive static, lasts up to 3 months, and fits dogs 10 lb and up with 8–22 in necks; the base runs up to a year on 4 D batteries. Invisible fences don't stop other animals or people coming in, and a determined dog may run through the boundary and then be blocked from returning.
Containment systems need several weeks of flag training with rewards; welfare groups advise a qualified trainer and physical fencing where possible.
Static corrections are aversive; use tone or vibration first and the lowest level that works.
Never rely on a barrier alone around pools; supervise and use a physical pool fence.
