Why it matters
The FieldGuard keeps the fence in the collar, like Dogtra's basic GPS FENCE, and adds live tracking and remote correction through the app when you're outside and within about 3 miles of your dog.
That in-range design is why there's no membership: the collar talks to your phone directly rather than over a cellular network. It also means tracking stops when you are far away.
Who it's for, and who should skip it

- You're on a large, rural property
- Your dog weighs 25 lb or more
Look elsewhere if

- Your dog is under 25 lb
Pros and cons
Pros
- No membership
- Live tracking within 3 miles outdoors
- Light 5.3 oz collar
- 60-day satisfaction guarantee and 1+1 year warranty
Cons
- Tracking only within range of your phone

Limitations to weigh

A rare fee-free GPS fence with real tracking, as long as you're usually within a few miles of your dog. For anywhere tracking, budget for a cellular plan instead.
