Why it matters
The door is all aluminum alloy with welded construction, a double magnetic flap for insulation, and an 18.7 x 9.92 in opening for dogs up to 110 lb. A closing panel locks with aluminum locks on both sides.
Who it's for, and who should skip it
Good fit if
- Large dogs
- Wall installs
- Durability seekers
Look elsewhere if
- Owners wanting selective entry (any animal can use it)
- Renters who can't cut doors
- Metal or glass doors (check compatibility)
Pros and cons
Pros
- All aluminum
- Double flaps
- Two-side locks
Cons
- Price
- Wall cutting
- Narrow opening
Limitations to weigh
- Measure your dog's shoulder height and widest point; the flap top should sit at least an inch or two above the shoulder, and the step-over should be low enough for seniors and short legs.
- Any flap big enough for your dog can let in wildlife, other animals and, rarely, people; lock the closing panel at night and when you are away.
- Door and wall installs mean cutting; check for wiring and studs in walls, metal or glass in doors, and rental rules before you start.
