Why it matters
The ramp is 61 x 15.5 in, molded from polypropylene with a ribbed surface and rated to 165 lb. PawStep sells it plain, with an anti-slip carpet accessory, or with carpet pre-installed; it notes traction varies with angle and conditions. It folds for storage and is rust-resistant and easy to clean.
Who it's for, and who should skip it
Good fit if
- Budget buyers
- Occasional car use
- Medium dogs
Look elsewhere if
- Dogs that slip easily (choose carpet)
- Very tall vehicles
- Heavy giant breeds
Pros and cons
Pros
- Very low price
- Light
- Rust-proof
Cons
- Traction varies
- Shorter than premium ramps
- Plastic
Limitations to weigh
- Practice at home on lead with treats before using a ramp or steps at the car; place it on firm, level ground.
- Longer ramps give gentler angles; dogs with arthritis or back problems usually do better with a gentler slope than with steps.
