Why it matters
The tracker clips to collars or harnesses up to 1 in wide with a metal clip and uses satellite GPS with cellular, no Bluetooth needed. PetSafe states up to 30 days of battery with its smart charging base and IP67. It logs bark activity, steps and rest. A subscription is required after the included 3-month trial.
Who it's for, and who should skip it
Good fit if
- Simple tracking
- Activity logs
- Brand buyers
Look elsewhere if
- Owners avoiding subscriptions (check plan)
- Dogs under the size minimum
- Owners who won't charge regularly
Pros and cons
Pros
- Long battery
- Bark and activity logs
- Clip-on
Cons
- Plan required
- 1 in clip max
- Base needed
Limitations to weigh
- Trackers report where a dog is, not keep it safe; location updates lag, accuracy drops near buildings and trees, and a flat battery means no location.
- Check the subscription cost over two or three years, not just the device price.
