Limitations to weigh

Supervise launcher play, teach your dog to approach from the side, and cap sessions; some dogs will fetch past exhaustion or fixate on the machine.
Use only the ball size the launcher is made for, and make sure the ball is too large for your dog to swallow.
Skip long fetch sessions in heat and give water breaks; puppies and dogs with joint problems need shorter, gentler play.
